Feb 1-3

Feb 1st

No tools went down today, we had a ton of work for 72. It was full all day. There was also a lot of work for the descum tools. I would go and collect 15 lots (which would all be done in about 5 hours if the next lot is loaded as soon as the last is done). When there were 3 lots left, I checked to see if any more were out waiting and there were over 20! So I collected more to fill the rack. D1 said it was that busy for them as well. 11 Ash is getting close to a maintenance qual. It's about 800 away. I predict it will go down on Wednesday at about 1000 away. Today was not as eventful as yesterday.

Feb 2nd

Passdown told us descum and 72 were the same amount busy, fully loaded all day with a lot of product still waiting to be ran. Been talking to MMJ on ways to hang out outside of work and we have a mutual love for "I Love Lucy". I have the box set and so now we just need to find nights where our schedules are free to binge watch.

Tuesday, I was in my Bay alone and started hearing a beeping sound. I checked all my tools and none had alarms going off on them. So I left the Bay thinking it was the sink on 5A. As soon as I left the bay, I didn't hear it anymore. I thought it was done. I went back into my bay and there it was again. I paged MMT and asked if they could check the subfab under my bay for an alarm. An hour later, the alarm stops. MMT finds me and asks if it was stopped. "Yep . Thanks!".
Sandy walked in to use the computer and I asked if she could hear the beep. She looked at me and said what beep? She waited a few seconds and then said, "Nah, I hear it." I think she wanted me to think I was crazy.

I was told today that the paperwork has been submitted for me to train the new person starting Sunday. Yay!

72 finally went down today, it was running with no errors for 2 days straight. Chamber 2 went down for an endpoint error. It use to do this a lot. It hasn't had an endpoint error for a while. It took the engineer another couple of hours to come look at it. The second time it went down, it went straight to maintenance, which is also for the engineer. The issue with the second time was because I ran a sign/wafer and the machine did not have a second wafer to compare it to. So it thought there was a issue and shut itself down. The engineer said he is going to have to change the chart in the tool so it doesn't do that again if there is only one wafer in the lot.

24 went down as well but I didn't know it was running or that it was down until MMT came up and said he signed back over to me and continued to process the lot. There ended up being more work for 24 as the night went on.

Near the end of shift our engineer needed to borrow 24 to run some test wafers because they are wanting to add some more recipes to it, and covert it for the new company. Now like Descum, 24 etch is qualed on a counter, unlike Descum, it isn't by wafer count, it is by hours the tool has ran with wafers, 24 etch's qual count is 2 etching hours. If there is a lot of work and it runs back to back that can be as little as 2 days, but if there is no work for weeks or months, then it doesn't need to be done. One thing our engineer did was use up the last remaining hour before Qual. So when he was done, it went down. I was on break and David wasn't paying attention to it so we didn't notice until 5:30 am. We apologized for passing down Qual, but oh well.

The next thing our engineer did after he was done using 24 etch was tell us that for the descum, Qual, we no longer needed to use the tencor to pre/post read PCs just the SP1s. We have the at passdown.

Feb 3

Today started our with a lot of broken down machines. 52 ash was down, I don't know what the initial problem was but the Maintenance man on D1 decided to put it down to P.Maint and left it down all shift. As I predicted, because I'm awesome, 11 Ash went down for preventive maintenance.
Funny story the MM signed it back up because they didn't have the needed parts in stock that needed to be changed out. Said, "on order" unknown time of arrival. I'm thinking they ordered this morning...

As day shift did the Qual for 24 etch, they realized a new task was added to 24 that needed to be done twice daily. Twice daily?! 24 is hardly used, and a lot of full product takes nearly 2.5 hours.

Tuesday, after the engineer told me that tencor is not needed for Quals, I let him know I had concerns about the SP1. I had a task Qual due for 53 ash Wednesday and said I could show him my concern. He agreed.

On top of my task for 53, 52 was already down and 54 was less than 50 away from going down to it's preventive maintenance. Down 3 ashers is NEVER fun and a new task yay! Okay I do 2.5/3 of the task for 53, page the engineer to come by so I can show him my issue with SP1. I then start the task for 24 while waiting, over an hour and a half goes by and the engineer has not stopped by. By this time I've completed the task in 24 and 54 went down. I really needed to bring up my working asher so I decided not to wait any longer. I was walking down the main hall, I saw the engineer talking to someone about a game. I stood next to him until they stopped talking and looked at me. I asked if he got my page and I was going to post read now, he looked at his pager and said "Oh, there it is..."

Either way, we got to the SP1, I started post reading and said "I'll be very mad if this doesn't mess up like it usually does..." Fortunately, it did. He noticed my concern and said he would figure out why that is happening. Either way it's still going to be the only pre/post reader we use.
He took this moment to tell me that he added the new task to 24. I told him I knew and already completed it. He looked shocked and amazed. 54 was down for another 3 hours before maintenance added a comment asking for an extension on the P.Maint because they didn't have the manpower to have two department MM working on P.Maint tools. Since 52 was already down. 54 came back up, 52 was down the rest of the night.
On Sunday, I have the exciting opportunity of training a new temp. I also hope I get the paperwork to get hired with benefits...I for reals need to go to doctor. My neck and shoulder still hurt. But I have no insurance, so nope.

Jan 28-31

Jan 28

Yup. I definitely did something to my back and neck. Woke up today and it hurt to breathe, move my right arm, and move my head in any direction. I took something for it, got in a super hot bath and that helped for a few hours. My sister picked up a heating pad for me and that kinda worked but it's still very painful to move my neck. I think I need a massage therapist and a chiropractor to relieve the tension in my back. Ouch.

Jan 29

Tomorrow is going to be a long day. I'm going out with friends to get more product for my online side business. My goal is to have everything that is not posted yet, online before we head out. Going to be a long night, I'm hopeful. Here is to a busy night.

Jan 31

Well...not much got done yesterday. i like being busy on the weekends way too much. But it was still a long day!

Friday night I woke up at 7 p.m and stayed up to start my product run at 10am but I didn't get done till 2p. Then we went out to eat and didn't get home until nearly 3:30p, then I went to sleep. I wanted to wake up at 10pm and stay up because I had another long day planned for Sunday. Well I didn't get u, I ended up sleeping until my body woke me up with pain at 9am. I got up, dressed and waited for my bestie to come over. She, my Mom, my Dad, and I have season tickets to Broadway plays. The play was scheduled to show at 2pm but we left early to have lunch. After the play let out, we went back to my house and I had to get ready for work. I'm already tired, tonight was going to be interesting.

So far, as I'm writing, it's 2am. I have been up 17 hours and still have another 4 to go until shift is done. When I got into work, I missed pass down, but I did tell my Super and Lead that I might be up to a hour late just in case. Thankfully, I ended up only 20 minutes late.
Over the weekend, I got a email from my temp place that new company would officially be taking over Monday at Midnight. Well it was finally true, we all had to leave the fab at 11:30 pm and could not return until after midnight, however this was going to be considered time from our break. Thankfully, they provided not-very-good food. I ate anyway because it was free. It was Mediterranean but it wasn't warm. B2aD, my new Bay 4 coworker, said it looked gross and didn't eat any of it. We were told not to go back into the fab until 12:30a but he went back in at 12:05.

Other than the midnight "celebration", the day was good. No tools went down and work was -all-over-the-place busy. It was nice and steady, a day like today is what I wish for every "Friday" or last day of my work week. We did have a meting that David told me about with the timekeeper, a lady in HR that keeps track of all the punch ins and punch outs. She is the lady that plays no favorites with anyone and assigns points to those who do not follow rules. She was telling us about the new time system that the company is having us use. There is a mobile app for it. The main three things I got out of the meeting were.

-It has ALL personal info in the app and online. So do not stay logged in if you are away.
-You can take your breaks as you please, as long as the total break time doesn't exceed ninety minutes, no points will be assigned.
-Temps are not in this system yet, unknown when they will be added.

I figure I'll take my breaks 45/45, that way I'm not rushed at 30 minutes and not bored at 60 minutes. I told B2aD, he didn't care, he just told me to tell Super. I told Lead, she didn't mind and she told me to tell Super. I told Super and he told Lead no, not me, the Lead. So I had to got find him and ask why. He said his boss says we can only take our breaks 15-60-15 or 60-30. No other combo, so I mentioned the meeting we just had, that Super was not at, and he said the Timekeeper was wrong. Super and the Timekeeper don't have the same boss. So I relayed this info to Lead and she said she'd remind Super to ask his boss again with the new Timekeeper info.

After the meeting, I went to get water and during that time, Lead talked to B2aD and asked why he told me about the Timekeepers meeting as I was not included, because I'm a temp. He told her one of two things will happen.

-They'll add the temps to the system and she'll need to know the info.
-She'll be hired on as a employee and she'll need to know the system.

As of right now, I try to log in and I get 'user not found'. So I wonder if my breaks are even being timed? Hmmm?

72etch ran all night, fully loaded and all day.

Jan 22-26

Jan 22

Today is my brother's birthday! He is now 25! Since the break changes, I've been wanting to get a watch to better time my breaks. My Dad had offered to go with me when I woke up at my usual time of 6-6:30 (on my days off). My Dad was home but my Mom was not, so I asked if he wanted to go get re-dressed (out of PJ's) and go watch and go shopping. Our first stop was H-E-B to look for a frosting spreader. The old one broke weeks ago and was thrown away, unfortunately I we didn't have a replacement on hand. Next stop was Target for the watch and more spatulas. I looked at cheap brands because I like to save money and spend the most of my money on my debt, not getting more. My Dad said I was looking at crap watches and refused to let me get anything outside the Timex-Ironman brand. So he said he would buy it. Of course I don't say no, but I don't ask him for much or I try not too and try not to make them expensive things. I walked out of the store with this one ((watch image)).

Next we weren't to Walmart for junk food! My Dad says he likes going shopping with me because I let him buy what he wants. I replied, 'I get to eat the junk food as well, why would I say no?'

Jan 23

Today my Mom and I were supposed to cook the next week's worth of food and put it in the fridge but she let me sleep all day, so I guess instead of just telling me she wasn't interested in that idea, she let me think we were going to do this plan all week. She even asked me to print out recipes for her. Then she let me sleep the day away until it was time to go out for my brother's birthday dinner. How lame. I think I'm going to ask her for some cash and just do it myself.

After dinner I noticed that the light up part to show the time in the dark didn't work. I told my Dad and he seemed more disappointed that I was. He even sent me two link for other watches to already replace this one. He also brought me a new shirt clip for my badge. It's awesome, be jealous.

Jan 24th

The guard did not call me over the rest of the week. However the boss that was mentioned was at the desk so I asked him about the locker. He let me know that it had not been cleaned out yet because they had not received the termination paperwork for Tyler yet. But, they still had my name and number on the desk to let me know when I could collect any belongings Tyler possibly left. Really home he left them!

Pass down was awesome today and went smoothly. Was told Ash had lots of work. Descum had LOTS of work. Usually it gets 0-15 lots during day shift. However it had over 25 and still had lots waiting. The numbers were really high though, in the 850-925 range at 1001 wafers. The tool signs itself down for Qual, just to make sure it is still running without dropping to many particles. 24 was down and needed a Qual done, which I don't know how to do. David has now found a "home" in my bay until Grant comes back or maybe Grant will be moved, as he prefers to work alone. Bay 7C is a single person bay. I watched David to the Qual for 24 etch. But I think I'll need to watch him do it again before being able to run it alone.

Went through the day and not a single tool went down. The work was steady, didn't have any problems or questions. So much 30 at the end of the day whom my lead came into the bay to get her passdown written down for D1 Lead she came up tot me and said she missed talking to me because I didn't need her that day. I told her my day was just that, awesome. Descum did end up needing to be Qualed around 2am for reaching the canter limit.

At the star of the day, we got more word that the new company is still waiting for the government to sign whatever needs to be done for the buy out to be completed. So we are still not technically sold. Which means my Super is still waiting to hire me on until after the transition is final. The new company is hopeful that it will be Feb 1st.

When hearing of this news at passdown, I asked D1M if she got the paper that explained how to log into the app that is provided by our time clock keeper. She said she did and I wanted to know if I could have a copy, she said she'd bring it in the morning.

I have a new lunch buddy. She is the only female maintenance worker, but she was not hear today so eating alone was boring.

Jan 25

I'm needing to remember to cover up my watch with the glove. It's still a new thing but I like the watch. Keeping track of time is much easier when you can't have your phone consistently. It is sad that the wrist watch is a dying thing. It is also sad that phone companies are trying to make it come back with your phone being in a watch. Dumb idea. I only use my phone for games and I can't use the watch for games.

Next, on day shift, 34 sink scanner finally died. The laser has been going dim for a few weeks now and it finally gave out and was replaced today. During passdown I told D1 that 72 only had the two lots dispatched to it all day and I loaded them both. Maria then asked why it wasn't using chamber 3. I hadn't noticed. We looked at Navigo because the FPS dispatch had not been on 72 etch for 2 weeks because it kept crashing. On Navigo apparently Chamber 3 went down on Jan 21st and neither Day 2 or Night 2 had noticed. Probably for the same reason we didn't.

When you get used to FPS showing you the work and the status of the tool, you forget Navigo can show you tool status. On Navigo the chambers are so tiny they are hard to tell what color they are for a status report. Maria also followed through and brought my copy of the directions to navigate the time keeping app. I hope I am able to log in even thought I'm still a temp. I will find out once my weekend starts. Other things that happened on Day shift, they had the robots fail in 50 ash and 53 ash. Also, the 72 chamber 3 came back needing a full Qual on the whole tool 30 minutes before shift change.

They didn't want to start it that close to the end. I said I would take care of it. I needed the practice anyway. 50 and 53 came up and didn't go back down for the rest of shift. When D1 gave passdown their Descum numbers were 325, at the end of my shift they were 650. If each lot had 25 wafers, that's 13 lots for each of the 3 Descum. We still had another 10 lots waiting. Descum hasn't been this busy since October.

72 etch, I needed to wait until our overtime helper came in so she could cover the Ashers while I slowly work my way through the Qual again. First time it took me 2 hours to just get the pre reading info done and I wasn't able to run the Qual. 2nd time took me 6 hours from start to finish. Need to get faster. This time took me 5 hours to get to finish but the tool also went down two times during the Qual. I did have to re-run one test wafer for failing to pass. After all that, it took me still a total of 6 hours. Would have been faster if not for the issues. After, all were up and ran fine. I asked my Super if he could try to load the FPS dispatcher for 72 again to see if that crashing problem was fixed. Seemed to work fine the rest of the day. Rest of the week will be the real test. My lunch buddy was back today, she said she was going to buy me lunch tomorrow. Cool :)

With 30 minutes left in shift the cart person decides that is the best time to bring 11 lots from building 4 to the e-fab. The e-fab is a pain in my butt! But since I was a crap worker today, being held up by 72 etch, I decided to go get the lots. Took me 25 minutes. Came back to Bay with the e-fab lots just after the Day shift got there. David talked to them while I loaded the e-fab lots into the ashers then I gave them the passdown.

Jan 26

Today a memo was going around in my department, that needed to be signed by everyone in acknowledgment of reading it. The memo started out with the new company is providing our insurance for those on it. I'm not, but because we are still not yet owned technically by the new company they are not able to take out the premiums from the checks. They wanted to let us know that when we transfer over to the new company, that they will be taking extra money from each check until the past month of insurance is caught up.

That is bad news for people who live paycheck to paycheck and are not budgeting for the extra money. Next they wanted to remind everyone that the breaks will be one hour and 30 minutes, not one hour and 50 minutes. Our department decided to start the new break times in the beginning of January because we thought the new company was going to take over that first week. When we didn't switch, I started taking my breaks the old way but everyone else took them the new way. I feel like the break switch reminder was for me...if so and I get talked to about it, I think I'll play dumb. Nah, I'll tell them the truth. We are still the old company, old breaks apply, and I'll start the new shorter time if we ever switch. Hopefully, I don't get fired :/ As far as I know, my Super is still holding off my permanent position for when we officially change over.

This week has been crap. My back and neck hurt so bad and I've been such a shit worker because I've been doing Quals everyday and have been leaving David to run the Bay. I hope he sees that I'm not doing it on purpose.

My new lunch buddy MMJ got food for us today. It was super nice and yummy. I asked the security guard again about B4aTs locker. They said they still haven't received termination papers but they'll hold the items for me. B5bB told me that 35 new temps are being hired in the next two weeks. I hope my shift gets some. A coworker from another department wanted to tell me a secret and started out with "He'll never date a coworker, but I know someone who likes you." Naturally I say "Who?" to which I got, "I can't tell you." Wouldn't it be better to just not say any of the secret? The work day was really busy. I don't like the last day of the work week to be busy.

Jan 10, 11, 12 / 17, 18, 19, 20- good week!

Jan 10

I get to attempt to do the Qual on 72etch. It looks like today I'll be able to run it as well. Today seems like it will actually be busy. I am running 29 sink and 34 sink. 28 is down. When B4aT tried to track something out after passdown, his badge failed. It gave the error "Security UAF-W-logfail, user authorization failure, privileges removed." Hehe. He told the Lead and Super and they are trying to figure out what to do. I guess they didn't fire him, so they don't know why "privileges removed."

Jan 11

I found out a girl who borrowed one of my pens two weeks ago was fired last week… Now I'm down an extra pen. But B4aT was not fired, turns out he left some of his certifications expire yesterday during the busy he was useless because he couldn't do anything with his badge and left mid day to go take his tests. Today, since his badge works again, I did everything I could to not be in my bay again. I can't wait for the day when he just stops showing up to work. With his lazier and lazier attitude, I feel like it will be soon. When we were on the shut down, he went to visit his mom, who bought a new house and he was helping her move in. While there, his girlfriend applied for jobs up there and he talked to some old bosses. When he came back, he said he was going to leave us soon as his girlfriend heard from where she applied or when his tax return came in. sounds like this week his girlfriend heard back from a few places...I hop he is moving sooner rather than later.

Jan 12

Today is Friday-ish! Last day of this work week. B4aT is officially on the radar of my lead and Super because of his lazy attitude and slower work ethic. They are watching him and not in the good way. Unfortunately but fortunately for B4aT, he doesn't mess up the work that he does. He always checks the IDs of the wafers, loads and unloads in timely manners and does enough work to keep work flowing. But sits when his tools are running and doesn't go get more until needed.

17, 18, 19, 20- good week!

Jan 17

Is this week the week?! If it is, I'm way too excited way too early! It's two days too early to tell. I show up a minute late to passdown and B4aT is not there. I get my passdown and B4aT is still not in the bay. At 6:10, neither is B4aG. Are they both late? Nope. Amber the backup lead comes in to my bay and says 7 people called in today. B4aG, B4aT, B5bB, B6aR, B3aY, B11dT, and Lead. Since B11dT didn't come in, neither did her partner Test Wafer Room Operator C.

Around 11pm, B3aY and B5bB showed up. This day was busy for Ash. At passdown the two on the bay said they've been able to keep Ash down to 20-30. And at that time, it was at 25. It didn't take long for that 25 to become 40. When I went on my first break at 11:30, it was at 50. When I got back, it was in the 80's. It got as high as 104. Then I was able to maintain 85-95 for the rest of the night. Descum was fairly busy as well. It takes Descum one hour to complete a lot of 25. And among all the as work, there were 20 lots for Descum which I could easily finish during my shift. If more were not dispatched out, and if one of my machines didn't go down to Qual in the middle of doing a lot. Fortunately, the machine finishes the lot, but will not let you load the next until the Qual is done. 24 also went down due to an arm failure. So the lot it was working on needed to be split because the completed wafers cannot wait more than 4 hours after being done before the next step needs to be started. This is because gasses used in 24etch and 72etch, are corrosive and start to corrode pits into the wafers. 72 went down today for a cooling plate error but was brought back up quickly and completed its lot without further issue. Other than being busy, today was good.

New Company has still not fully taken over. But they have already taken over as the insurance carrier. So when they do take over, they are taking back insurance dues from the first check. I'm glad I'm not fulltime yet, that back pay would be no fun if they take much longer to take over payroll.

I asked Super for help to split lot. He told B12dA to do it. I didn't want to ask B12dA because she was covering everyone due to the amount of people gone. Two people said to take my time because the next day no one will care that I was alone, they'll care if I mess up.

Jan 18

B4aT and B4aG are no shows again today. Fortunately, everyone else showed so B2aD was able to help and stay in my bay with me. Looks like I will not be learning the optimas real soon like I'd hoped but B4aT's missing. He has one more day before it is considered "job abandonment" and is automatically terminated. One of the benefits to fulltime is "time bank" where you get hours from each paycheck for vacation. Under some circumstances, Old Company allows employees to "borrow" time bank to cover events like the shutdown for those who do not have enough but still need the normal paycheck. B4aT borrowed over 40 hours, and last I knew, still owes 20 hours of pay back to Old Company. I asked my lead today "when his locker is cleaned out tomorrow, can I have his notebook, pen, and safety glasses." She laughed and said, "I don't see why not."

50ash went down twice today for "cassette on sensor one". Maintenance signed it back up the first time, but opened up the machine and cleaned the sensors the second time. He told me to run PC's and I took the opportunity to run the full Qual so I didn't have to rush to get it down when we get back in tonight. 24 was down when we got in but as soon as it was up it was running wonderfully and didn't go down again for the rest of the shift. It ran 4 lots fully w/o issue! 2 of the lots had been waiting to run for 30+ hours. Good thing there were not P1's. 24 is the only one of it's kind so when it is down, the lots just wait. 49 went down an hour before shift change due to RF failure, it happens frequently to the Ash but I don't know what it is. Maintenance didn't look at it by the end of shift. Ash was steady today but picked up near the end of the day getting to 45 lots by the end. I almost left the gowning room with my hood on. Two people saw me, not one told me. Only noticed because I didn't put my safety glasses on my smock as I usually do and touched my face and felt my hood. I turned around and called out Yolanda for not telling me, turns out she's losing her voice because she got sick on her vacation. So I probably didn't hear her.

Two people told me if I get too excited I will be extremely disappointed if B4aT shows up on Tuesday. On Tuesday, weekly Qual can be started as early as 4 am. The day it is due I've never been able to do it early because B4aT wouldn't help while I was on break, he wasn't here today so I did it. Now to see if the system allows the Qual as early as early as it says it does.

Jan 19

B4aG showed up today. He informed me that he had not being in because he was supposed to have surgery but was scheduled with the wrong doctor and it was rescheduled to Thursday. He also told me that he was not going to be in on Wednesday.

Day 3- No B4aT! This is exciting news form me, because as of today he is terminated for 'job abandonment'. Which means he can't come in tomorrow or ever, even if he wanted to.

B2aD says he feels like a ping pong ball because he keeps being bounced around from bay to bay covering. he said "I have no home" Me: "You can live in Bay 4A with me, I'll give you a home." For the next 4-6 weeks while B4aG is out. Maybe even after that."

This slow guy, Sloth, has a major problem walking around and not doing work, so he was put in a bay and told to stay and work. B2aD didn't help him while he was covering people that were going to lunch. When I went to find lunch at 4 am. B2aD was covering Lead's pager and got a page from Sloth that said he was going home early. B2aD laughed and said "All that actual working must have made him tired."

Today B2aD came up to me and he says he said "the mountain ceder is Killing me" Which made me laugh because that is NOT what i heard. I heard "The mouse in heater is killing me" when i repeated this he laughed at me.

50 ash did go down, claiming Qual needed to be done. I just tasked it out. B4aG left early saying he didn't feel well. Hope his hernia surgery goes well. I told MMT that B4aT was most likely terminated. MMT said, "That's not a good way to end things. Hope he doesn't try to use Old Company as a reference in the future." Then he said, "Oh now you get to deal with me." Hopefully whatever problem he had is done with because he is the department maintenance guy and can no longer only talk to the males of the bay as it is now my bay.

I think the termination is an automatic system thing because has soon as B4aT didn't clock in, B4aG tried to track product into the ashers and got a message saying his certification for the asher expired. But B4aG was never certified, at least not yet on the ashers. He was however certified on the sink so he had to run the sink for today and when he returns to work I'll be his new trainer to retrain him correctly on the tools. I do still have to learn the Qual for 24. B4aT took that Qual with him. He said I'd never have to worry about it… now B4aT is not here, yes! But I don't know how to fix it if I need to.

Also found out today Old Company is trying to hire people off Craigslist but they are proving to be unreliable. They had 3 interviews set up this week and not one showed. I hope someone shows up soon. I'd like to start training so I know how to refine my skills and teaching methods.

Read in Teresa's notes that New Company still waiting for the government to approve the buyout. How complicated is it? We were told it would be much worse if we actually made chips for the government. Since the start of the year, those with health care through work have been covered by New Company but we are still being paid by Old Company, meaning that the premiums for the insurance is building up because Old Company doesn't have an agreement with New Company to collect the health care money. In Teresa's notes, she let everyone know that they should put aside the money that is not being taken out because New Company plans to take ALL back pay insurance premiums out on the first New Company check issued. So far it is two payments.

Latest update is that New Company is hopeful that the Government will approve the buyout and the transition will be completed on Feb 1st. Which would be 3 health care payments. I don't have to worry about it because I don't have their health insurance because I'm not full time with them yet. Super seems to be waiting until the buy out is official.

I'm glad B4aT gave back my ((see notebook)). Had them less than 4 months and have never watched them.

At the start of shift, 24 was down and needed a Qual. Fortunately, B2aD is going to be in my bay until someone else comes down. He also knows the Quals to 24. I asked if he could teach me next time the Qual needs to be done. 49 went down for a preventive maintenance task that was rescheduled for another time…

Someone stole my boots! I came in gowned then noticed my boots missing. The fuck?! There are cameras! Annoying. The pathetic part is when I went to break at 11:15 my boots were hanging on the hanger NEXT to mine. Someone from D1 took my boots instead of getting new ones, again the fuck? The door is not far away to get your own new pair. The new pair I grabbed sucked because the elastic to keep the boot up with, stretched out. So I took my boots back and gave them the shit pair I got that day. From now on I'm keeping my boots IN my gown.

The day was fairly slow. Ash wasn't busy as it was Sunday today. It got as high as 60 lots because no one was running ash for an hour and a half. I went to break at 11:15 and just after I left, B2aD got a P1 New Company lot that had specific instructions that only B2aD could run it. And at 12 the other person who run the optimas goes on break. I got back late from break at 12:30 instead of 12:15. It doesn't seem like long but 30 minutes with no one at all running any kind of ashers really lets the lots build up. I've also got a big influx of lots from building 4 to the E-fab. I hate gathering lots from the E-fab so I let them sit longer. When I did finally go, I had a whole cart full. The cart for my bay holds 12 lots.

The rest of the night went quickly. Before I knew it, we were giving passdown to D2 people and I was going home. I asked the security guard if they had cleaned out B4aTs's locker. He said he wasn't sure because they only clean out lockers of the badges that get turned in. I told him he wasn't getting the badge back because B4aT most likely moved. But if they do clean out his locker, I asked if I could have his bay work items if allowed. He said he'd ask his boss and would have to give me a call.

Jan 4, Jan 5, Jan 6

Forgot to mention that over the two week shutdown I asked my temp rep how I needed to do my overtime shift. Because the extra day was on Sat and my normal shift starts on Sunday. She forwarded the email to the director of payroll who informed me that Because the shift was overnight sat to Sunday morning, they needed to be split between the two days. So i needed to submit time on Saturday from 5:40p-12a. and submit the time card with just those hours. Them submit the other time card with the added hours during that next week. I tried to add them to Sunday but because I don't break up the hours on my time sheet they system wouldn't allow me to because it thought there were double hours on one day. Usually instead of putting 5:40p-12a on Sunday then 12:50a-6 on Monday morning and so on for the week, I put them in as 5:40p-6a and add hours to the break section as 12a-12:50a. So it would let me add another 12:50a-6a on the same day. I had to add them to a day I didn't work on this week like Friday.. This is how I only ended up getting an extra 6 hours of overtime vs 12. My Super tried to change it by changing my hours to say I worked 11.5 hours Saturday for the one check and my normal shift during the long week, but the payroll director at my temp place I guess remembered our email and paid me like I put my hours in, not the way my Super did it.

So I tried to enter the hours split between the top line and bottom line but it wouldne let me because in the second line I put 5:40p and 6a with 12a and 12:50a being my break. So the hours from 12a-6a were conflicting with the group hours i entered as working.

Jan 4th

B5/6aN left. The last few days have been boring without him. He was the first person to talk to me . My current bay coworkers don't talk to me anymore. They talk to each other a lot. It is starting to bother me. It makes me feel like they don't like me for some reason. So I'm trying to branch out and talk to other people in my department but two things.

o I have to walk to their bays.
o I feel like I spend too much time there and awkwardly leave to go back to working.

Today was insane. My work pen is dying and I just got a new one...so I don't want to burden my Super and ask for another new one. B4aG did lose my extra pen. Maybe I can tell my Super B4aG he lost the good one? Work picked up a lot. Near the start of the day my lead said if I had time could I help them out with B7D - Sink 29 and B5A - Sink 28. I didn't even tell my Bay coworkers, I just left them to go run the sinks. I also don't really like being in the Bay with them because of the above mentioned reason of them not talking to me. Even when I would try to join thier conversations, they would stop talking to each other when I got near. Rude. :(

All shifts work for the same company but the way each shift is ran, no one would believe that. We all seem like our own clock gear pieces of separate companies that have to be in the same timepiece to make it tick. My shift is already following new company time keeping even though we are not official, but we need to work out the timing with our coworkers and Bay peeps.

D1 shift is still following old rules. Which is going to be crazy for them next week, if we switch to the new company. We are already on Day 2 of the new timekeeping and it is still a hard transition. Figuring out the breaks has also been difficult. We were told that we had to take 15-60-15, but could not combine any breaks unlike before when we had 25-60-25. We used to combine to 60-50 or 110. Today we were told from a TOP dog that we will after all be allowed to combine to 60-30 but our first break HAD to be taken before 11:30pm, even if we clocked out at 11:30p for our first break.

So B4aT left at 10 and B4aG left at 10:30 leaving me alone. B4aG said he was only going to take 30 but still wasn't back by 11:27 so I had to leave which is bullshit because they both know my break is at 11! Has been for 6 months! I barely clocked out in time at 11:29! Then I thought I'll be smart and take 45 minutes just to see if I could or if I'd get in trouble, so I did.

At my lunch break I went to the lunchroom to heat up my leftovers and two coworkers offered me handmade enchiladas. I said yes because free food. They were delish!! I put my leftovers back in my bag for tomorrow.

When I got back in, I went back to the bays I was working in to avoid my coworkers. I needed to go back to 4A for something and checked Navigo to see if 72etch was up yet (this was around 3a.m), it was signed up to "Full Quals" at 11pm! And B4aT didn't check on it. I went to ask the Lead how to do it because B4aT informed me at that time that he didn't know how to do the full qual. Yet he is certified on it and so am I. So my Lead said she was deactivating our certifacations because to be certified meant we knew the qual. And then she got a person who had some time come by and teach me the qual steps. She said if that person watched me do it and felt good about my learning and writing down the steps, I'd keep my certifaction.

I started getting the needed test wafers in the order they needed to be in. I had 2 cassettes that needed 5 wafers each in a certain order to be read in the correct parts of the machine and another 2 cassettes with 3 wafers each. Then they all needed to be pre-read on 3 different machines/6 different recipes. This took me 2 hours! Just to pre-read. Remember that "I'll be smart and only take 45" minutes on my first break? Well now it's 5am, and all breaks have to be DONE by 5:30, no one can be out of the fab past that time. So I lost 15 minutes of break time. This, this I may actually get in trouble for.. (update: 1/29/16, i did not)

I asked my Lead if she gets told if temps are going to be offered full time. She said she gives input and has been asked about me. She is not told time frames and thinks it will be after the new company takes over which is not until January 11th now, pending government approval. (update: 1/29/16, the new company didnt take over on the 11th, it was pushed back again with a TBD date)

I did not get 72etch qual started in time before shift change, so I wrote down ALL the names and pre-read and apologized to the D1 lady. She has been working the Bay alone this week and it has been busy. I apologized for leaving her with another Full Qual to do because Sunday B4aT let 24etch sit all day and didn't even attempt to do it. And D1 got in trouble for it not being done. So I felt bad that she had to do another.

Difference, pre-readings were done. For a qual that takes 3-4 hours for a pre-read, qual, post-read, enter data. He did nothing for a qual that takes nearly 6hrs, if nothing fails on the first attempt. He didn't even stay for passdown and I didn't work that Bay! So I said sorry for that as well and suggested she read the notes on the tools to see if anything went down for that day. Had i known he wasnt going to give passdown i would have tried to get that info so D1M didnt have to figure it out. Rude?! I told my Lead That B4aT didnt stay and hasnt been involved in giving passdown and She said she would talk to D1M To see how B4aT is giving passdown, just to make sure I'm not being deciving.

Jan 5th

As the days go on B4aT is getting more and more complacent. He is fulltime and is getting the benefits from it, but has settled into being more lazy because of it. I didn't think it was possible but it happened in front of my eyes. Sitting for nearly the entire shift. With B4aT and B4aG talking more with each other and I'm starting to feel more isolated which is a sucky feeling amungst coworkers.

I asked my lead if I could start training on other tools in a new bay. She said yes. But I'd have to wait for the person that would train me to come back from vacation. She starts vacation on the 7th. My Lead also said they were not going to waste any more time on B4aT because gossip has spread that he is leaving as soon as he gets his tax return. And it is rumored that B4aG might stat a week, 2 tops after that. So neither of them are going to be trained anywhere else. B3aY said she'd train me on the optimas, B6aR said she train me on those sinks and the tools in 5B and my lead said she'd train me on the sink in 7C. It sounds like because she knows B4aT and B4aG are planning on leaving, she is just going to leave them in the bay until a new trainee comes in. I might be able to train the new person.

Jan 6th

B4aG was off this day but did not inform us the day before...again. He is not a very good team player. Today was busy but all went well and B4aT and I didn't talk the whole shift. Not even to let the other know that we were going on break. We just left at the times we wanted even if the other wasnt back yet.

two weeks off. Jan 2, Jan 3

I had so many things planned for my two weeks off, and didn't do any of them. :) It was so awesome. Although it hurts my own bottom line so a few days before going back to work when I needed to switch up my schedule back to night shift and I did do a lot of work on my kind of side online business. I was able to meet up with 2 of the 3 I do credentialing for to get paid up on what I had completed and see if they needed me to check up on anything else. The third person I sent them a few texts to meet up and they said they'd get back to me on Dec 21st, and never did. They actually haven't texted me since and owe me around $200, So I should probably check up with them in the next coming weeks. I had a new person send me a message on Facebook asking if I do credentialing, and I told them I do, but I don't call the companies anymore because of my schedule. I sleep during the normal business hours and waiting up to call someone is not something I'm willing to do from now on. I said if she was still interested in me doing the applications and faxing them in I would. But nothing after. She never got back to me. So I guess that's not something that interested her. Oh well, I don't want to continue to do that on top of everything else I task myself with.

Jan 2

Back to work today. I was asked to come in a day early which I said yes to! Hopefully this shift will see that I'm amazing and will continue to ask me to come in. So I come in, had to get a new suit because the end of our shift on Dec 16th we had to put our suits in a bin to be cleaned outside the fab.

The gowning room was empty coming back in. no suits hanging, was a weird sight to see. Walking into the fab about 1/4 of the computers are locked out and no one knows the passwords because the computers never turn off. Our main system "promise" isn't working on any computers that are logged in. Basically, from 5:40 to 7:10 we are standing around talking because we cannot qual the tools for start up. Even if promise was up the 3 tools needed 9UV, 3tenCore and the SP1 machines, and so far they are not qualed or turned on yet. N2 of my department took a vote to leave the fab and gather in the lunch room until promise came back up. We were there 7:15 to 7:50.

Promise is up, but those 3 machines still are not. Now we are back in the fab waiting on maintenance to turn on the needed machines… All of the needed machines came up b 8:30 and we had 36ash and 52ash handed over for their quals. 52ash passed in the 1st run. 36ash failed 2 times and passed on the 3rd PC run. Then 49ash and 50ash were handed over at 12am and they both passed first run. Then 54ash, 53ash, 11ash, 12ash, and 13ash were handed over at 12:30. As I was doing 11 - 13 the guy on this shift in this bay with the unfortunate nickname of 'Salmon-Man', somehow managed to take down both 54ash and 53ash, back to maintenance at the same time around 1:15. 34sink was handed over at 3 am, 54ash and 53ash are still down and I cannot find the test wafers needed to qual 34sink. They are supposed to be in Bay 11D but have all been used. The guy in 11D said there is another batch in the cage. I walked over to the cage and it is a mess. Nothing was in the place it was suppose to be in, and i wasted enough time looking. So I walked away. Salmon-man said he would look for them when he got back from break...and if he couldn't find them he would either leave it for Day shift or ask someone to look. I think he is going ot leave it for day shift...he seems like a lazy kid. Also the sink is currently blaring an alarm that I cannot turn off because the screen froze so he wouldn't be able to load the test wafers anyway.

Jan 3

The sink did go up on Day 1 shift. They were able to find the needed test wafers. They were also able to start running product again! Yay!

I bring lunch to work ever working day because I don't want to drive somewhere, wait, drive back and eat. That takes all the precious time. Oh , and I don't want to spend money on that. Today I almost didn't bring lunch because the new company was supposedly having a mandatory party with food to celebrate working for the new company. Came into shift to find out the mandatory party has been moved to January 11th. I'm glad I brought food or I would have had to go home and put something together.

On my way to my car after the end of the day the lead on N2 called me over to her car. Well she called Adrianna, but I went over anyway. She thanked me for coming in and I said no problem. I also told her I've been trying to get overtime on N2 for nearly 4 months. She suggested I tell the N2 supervisor. I let her know I've told him 4 times and he has never called me. So she took down my name and number in her phone and said she'd talk to her super and give him a call. Yay! I might get some gorram overtime. Finally! (update: 1/29/16, nope still hasn't called me in for overtime... Maybe the are waiting for my temp status to be employee as well?)
Since today was the first day back to full production we had super small goals . By 9:30pm we had already passed our goal. By 12:30 we passed our goal double, by 4:30 triple.

Dec 13, Dec 14, Dec 15

Dec 13

72 was down when we came in. It failed it's PC qual. The PC is supposed to read <50 particles on a clean, non-printed wafer. I was told the 1st PC read 1400 and the 2nd 400+. After 2 fails it needs to be put down to maintenance. No Maintenance guy from our shift worked on it. Not much more happened. I was working ash but it is sooo slooow. When I got hired I was doing 250 + track-outs a night. Even more if I was helping sink plus scope. I didn't even hit 100 this night.

Dec 14

Today when I scanned into the building before work, I was walking in the front doors past security, the security guy asked if I got my new badge. I say "New badge"? We got our new company badges early, but they are not active yet. So we basically have them to test our the new log in/out system. Just after I got handed my new badge, a tall man I've NEVER seen before is WAY too excited. He says, in no general direction, "Did you getcha new badge?" Since I've never seen him, I was sure he wasn't talking to me. So I walked into the locker room. When I got out, he was still there. He looked at me and asked again, this time I just replied "Yes" and kept on my way.

So far, so good. MMT seems to have stopped calling my name. Which is good, he was beginning to wear it out. Today my lead asked me to run 29sink. While I was relocating a cassette to a new shelf, I put down a second lot near me because I needed to do the same relocation to it and didn’t' want to walk all the way back to the back of the bay to get the second lot. A lady, the same that yelled at me about the priority lots a few weeks ago, was standing in the main hallway... watching me... The second I put the lot down the lot, she yelled at me again. This time it was for putting the second lot on a table. She yells "You can't use that table! Can't you see the red and white tape, you can't use it!" I said "Oh, I didn’t' know, no one told me. Thanks." I don't even know this lady name and she's yelled at me twice now, what the heck?! Either way, I thought maybe I did something to her. Maybe it's because I'm pale white and she's pitch black. Maybe she's got a stick surgically implanted in her butt? I talked to B5AN. He said It's the last one with the stick, he said she's always mad. FUN.

1/2 of 72 was still down. I guess maintenance doesn't know what's wrong and they just keep passing it to the next shift.

Dec 15

72 still down! At least the next shift is D2/N2. Maybe they'll either fix it or fix it with a hammer and throw it out back. Our sink is acting up today. It keeps giving off, "tank not full" or not filling in programmed time errors. It was down for nearly 3 hours. Work for it piled up! (update: 1/29/16, the sink no longer has these errors, for now. I guess they did actually look into the error of the shutdown and fixed it) Work in general really doesn't feel slower, it feels busy. But for sure it is slowing down a lot. I guess this is the final dash to get everything out by the end of the week before shut down. I sent a message to the D2 Super requesting overtime again. But I don't think I'll hear anything so I've started making plans for this weekend. I'll have to let the people know that I may have to cancel last minute if I get called in to work. I really hope I get called! (update: 1/29/16, I didnt get called). I would really like the money because I'm not getting paid for the 2 week shut down because I'm still temp status. I did get an official email saying the temps are being kept and transferred to the new company, so one less thing to worry about. Yay! Today my Super asked me to join the start up team on Jan 2nd, so I'm getting a full shift of overtime! That first week back is my shifts long week so 12 hours overtime! Heck yea! (update: 1/29/16) it turned out to only be 6 more hours of overtime because sat from 5:40p-12a ends up on one check and 12:01a-6a ends up on the other).

It's nearly 2:30am and 3 more tools went down . 72 is back down, it was up for less than an hour. 24 went down and 36 ash went down. Fortunately unlike the sink, none of them have alarms that BLARE until maintenance comes by.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows by now how awesome I am. I found a lot that was misplaced and lost for over 100 hours! It only took me 5 minute of research to figure out what that person was thinking. It was on the shelf I would have put it on if I was following the same logically as the person who misplaced it. They just didn't relocate it. Another temp got fired on Sunday and I found his notebook today. Finders keepers...he's not using it anymore. :)

Dec 6, Dec 7, Dec 8, Dec 9

Things are a-changing Dec 6

When we start to come in to the fab, also known as the clean room, we have to go through two rooms. The pre-gowning room and gowning room. In the pre-gowning room you need to put a hair net, face mask, gloves and a beard net if needed. This room is also where you get your new clean room suit if yours is dirty/smelly or if you just want to change it. Our hair nets when we left last week looked like the traditional lunch lady hair net.
.
Today they were compacted and more snake-like

and you had to pull apart the middle to open it into the hairnet. It was interesting. The face masks smell like Iodine which goes away, or you get used to it, with 15 minutes. And the last new thing is, to me at least, the gloves feel thicker. Like the thickness of wearing two gloves, which since the gloves are large on me, and I already wear the smallest size, i wear two, so it felt like wearing three. It kept my hands warm. (Update 1/26/16- I think this week it was just a rouge batch of thicker gloves. they've gone back down to normal thickness, and the lunch lady hairnets only show up when the new ones are all gone and the next order isnt in yet)

Today while going through the pre-gowning room, I didn't notice anything different with the packaged uniforms, because I didn't look at them. I already had a suit hanging up in the gowning room. I got on my pre-gowning stuff and walked thru the next set of doors. When I got into the fab and at my bay, my passdown bay coworker from D1 said that on their shift at around 4:30p, they had a fire alarm go off and all had to evacuate. When the alarm goes off everyone has to leave the building with suit and all, which contaminates the suit and it cannot be worn back into the fab. No longer able to be used, It needs to be sent off to be cleaned. Since before i was hired, there has always been a shortage of suits available so a bunch of people had to take maintenance suits until the fab tech suits were cleaned. Maintenance wears blue, fab techs wear white. So there were a lot of blue suits walking about the lab, it was different. Sucks for those who dropped off their suits last week to be washed but didn't grab news one to hang before shift end, because they were wearing blue too. I did drop off my suit to be cleaned last week but grabbed a new one before leaving and hung it up because when they are freshly opened from the package, they smell like the chemicals used to clean them. So I let mine air out over the weekend.

Dec 7

Getting annoyed at most of the human population, going on day 12. I asked someone for a favor and so far as of today, after they promised to get it done that day... Than within that week, 12 days later they are maybe only 8% done with it. I don't know what they are doing all day as 'no' job is had by them. I do recall asking once why it wasn't being worked on and they answer was something along the lines of needing to mentally prepare themselves.

I got two write-ups that are not write-ups this day. They are called "Quality Awareness" forms. which when i explained what that meant i understood it as they are just forms that basically say "Hey. Pay attention. Slow down. Check yourself before you wreak yourself," and that they do not official go on record unless you do the same mistake again and get an official write-up, and they do no go to the board that reviews you for full time (from temp), promotions, bonuses and so on. I understood this as not effecting my chances of getting offered a full time, non-temp position. One Quality Awareness was for tracking out a product lot before the tool was completed. Which the tool is deceiving, because it says it is done with the product before it puts all the wafers back into the cassette. The second was for not noticing that our promise system said a cassette was only suppose to have 24 wafers, and the cassette had 25 in it. I was the only one that got in trouble on this one even tho there was three other steps before mine that no one noticed this mistake on either... But for some reason the company only punishes the one who last tracked out the product before it is caught. Lucky me.

In the last hour of shift, 72etch went down for a cooling plate error and in the last possible moment the maintenance man came to look at it. They fixed the problem and determined it need to be qualed before returning to production. Which I felt bad that we had to leave that for next shift.

Dec 8

At start of shift we came into 72etch working just fine. Just after passdown, it had a cooling plate error again. Once that was fixed it was back up for a few more hours than went down for a aborted recipe error because one of the wafers wouldn't process correctly. After that was fixed and our engineer processed the wafer, it was back up again... But when certain tools go down with product inside, they need their interface reset. But only sometimes. Apparently this was that time. The next 2 lots that were attempted to be tracked out, failed due to needing arbitrary 'data collection' because of the interfacing issue. Once that was fixed the engineer left for less than a minute and it went down again due to an endpoint not being reached in the recipe. We were done with it this sift and just left it to the next shift. It is getting closer and closer to shut down and less (if any) product is being started. If there are no starts than the new product doesn't go through ash or sink or anything. Less and less work is needing to be done each day. We made goals yesterday but I don't think we'll make goal tonight.

The ash work slowed to almost nothing at around 3 am. There were 18 lots between 3 - 6 am. The 34sink in Bay 4A was at a stop from 2-5:30a. Then 8 lots that came off the ash were able to run on 34sink. Other than 72etch giving us issues, the day was really slow.

Dec 9

For passdown D1 coworker said that he was running the bay alone, which is really really hard to do. Bu he also said it was easy for him because there was hardly any work to be done. My lead is out today and the step-in lead asked me to assist with running 28sink and 29sink because there was so little work to be done.

B4AG didn't show to work yesterday but didn't tell me or B4AT that he wasn't coming in. Which is fine. Everyone can keep secrets, it would have just been nice to know. We were told by our lead to found out at 6:30 he was off that day. When he came in today I said, "oh we didn't know you were going to be off yesterday". His response "well the Super knew". Helpful because the Super didn't tell us either.

Because of my recent maintenance man issues my lead let me know they were not going to be in on wed night shift and gave me the ext # of my super's desk in case the Super was not in the fab. I don't think the lead told anyone else except the Super and back up lead that they would be out the shift.

My super came up to me yesterday and just let me know that he was concerned and if I felt threatened or harassed, or if it got worse, to let my Super, my Super's boss or HR know. I said if it gets more aggressive to the point where it starts to bother me or if it continues after the shut down, I will be doing that. But right now it doesn't bother me. It's weird but easily ignored. I think the maintenance guy has stopped for now because he sees that I still don't acknowledge him.

Since Sunday I haven't had anymore issues with MMT. On Sunday every time he walked by he would shout "AJ!". Nothing Monday, nothing Tuesday, I thought he was done because during those days he didn't even look at me. Nope, started shouting "AJ!" again today near midshift. However he has been wearing his mask correctly. So maybe he did actually get in trouble or written up because a fabtech reported him??

One of my super nice coworkers from Bay 2A (B2aD) showed me a misaligned wafer print today. The numbers looked like they were ghosting one another

He said depending on how far back in layers it is it can either be scrubbed off and reworked or it needs to be scraped and restarted.

B4AG I think he needs to be taken off the ashers because he does not pay enough attention when unloading the cassettes from the ashers to the correct boxes. I was helping out 29sink again, so was not in my bay a lot. But 29sink from Bay 5A and 24sink from Bay 11D get most of their work from 4A ashers.

The B11DC came up to 4A to get work and dropped off 2 cassettes on his way past 5A. Then he came back 3 minutes later and said he had the wrong cassette in his box. This happened 2 more times during the night and the last time before we took work for the sinks, I checked the boxes because I noticed that there was a product cassette outside a box that should not have been. 6 boxes and cassettes were mixed up in this last switch up. It was a mess! I couldn’t even imagine what would happen if they went on and misprocessed.

3 more days till shut down.

Slowing down- Nov 29, Nov 30, Dec 1

Nov 29

I was in bed way too long. On my days off I try to keep the same sleep schedule but I'm not always able to. This past week I know I wasn't because my whole family was off on Thursday and we had stuff to do. I was up most of the morning and took a short sleep from 12 to 4, got up and had turkey day dinner and ended up staying awake until the next morning. I was awake most of Friday as well because my Dad was working on my car before the rain came in.

I usually have a thing scheduled Saturday mornings but I haven't gone the last few weeks because I had no car. This past Saturday was fortunately a day the scheduled thing was "not needed" so i canceled it again, which gave my Dad the rest of the time he needed to finish putting my car back together.

Then it was done. We had to special order new tires and when those come in, I'll have to get a wheel alignment as well.

Nov 30

About an hour into shift my Super comes into the fab and calls a department meeting into to Bay 3B because it has the widest opening for us to gather round. He wanted to let us know, as the official start date with new company got closer, we would be getting the offer letters tomorrow. Which we should sign and return tomorrow as they are due Monday and our next work day is on Sunday.

Again everyone is getting an offer letter. One employee that already has a position with the company asked "What about the temps?", to which the supervisor answered, as he has been answering since the start of the buy out is "I don't know". I'm a temp still and unsure about my job. All I know for sure is one of two things will happen, come January 4th.
o My badge to get into the building works and I have a job.
o It doesn't and I go home to apply to the new company.

I have to email my temp agency and see if they have any info on what is going to happen on their end with the contract in place. Will I even have a job thru the temp company with the new company, or would the temp place offer to look for a new job for me.?

Dec 1

There was a meeting today on day shift and the same meeting is going to happen on our shift. Not a typical meeting, we are going out in a group of people 5-8 at a time, are going out to get their offer letters and sign up for benefits with the new company... Not me

B4aT asked when my time was and I said "time"? Which led to an exchange where we both figured out he got a letter and I did not. I was SO VERY hoping that I would be getting one but nope. My near fears are upon me...well shit.

2 weeks left until shut down and company switch. 2 weeks of shut down with no pay, the more I think of how fast this is happening the more it frightens me. What am I going to do?! If I would have thought of this sooner I could have been smarter about my choices in which semester to apply to, to go back to college. Deadline was Nov 15th to go to Spring and I applied Nov 18th so I got forced into Fall. But I'll see if I can contact someone.

Since Sunday, 29 sink has been down for "facility failure". Maintenance would bring it up, it would stay up for a max of 5 minutes before going down again. It did this 5 times in a row on Monday. Maintenance left it down the rest of the shift. I guess either day shift didn't know what to do with it or didn't bother to look at it because it was still down at the start of shift today.

Yesterday and today I have been covering 28 sink for the majority of the day. It's not bad because I love doing the sink work but it's lonely because the other 3 people in bay 7D are in a different department so they don't talk to me :(. However I can get a ton of work done, not as much as if I was on the ashers but enough to make a dent in the sulfuric sink work.

-back story- Last Wednesday I reported that maintenance man (MM-T) from the post (told ya it would come up again--still a few more times) to my lead who told my super who told me to report to his boss. I did, as you know. All this week when he has passed me by in the main hall of the fab he has said things that usually are nice small-talk openers... Usually. MM-T has never spoke to me in all the months I've worked here. Whenever one of our tools has gone down that he works on, he always waits for B4AT to get back into the bay and the maintenance man tells B4AT what was fixed and if a qual needs to be done. So for this week is has been out of character for MM-T to walk by (without stopping) and say things like"Hey Aaaa-jay" "What's up Aaaa-jay?" "How are you Aaaa-jay?". He doesn't care what the answer is, because he keeps walking by, but the tone is very passive aggressive. So again I told my lead who told the Super, they advised me to write an email to my super to 'document' the events in case something comes of it. I don't think anything aggressive will come of it, but I wrote the note anyway. I also wrote my final note to the N2 Super requesting overtime. I guess I could ask the D2 Super one final time. But they both suck. We give their people overtime every week and they don't allow overtime for us. We should be denying their people, we get more done than them anyway… (update 1/26/16, they may not be calling because like I said in the last post our head count starts at 13, and all other shifts have 17 or more. I don't take back what I said here, they still suck.. Everyone could always use one more hand to keep the work moving.)

Nov 24, Nov 25- its a doosy

Nov 24th

The ash was fairly busy today, I was back running them because B4aG got a call around 7:40p and went home for the day. I guess something happened with childcare for his kid, either way he left. Before he left, he informed the lead that he was not coming in tomorrow which I found out from a guy who used to work in my bay. Not even my bay coworkers! So I wanted to make sure it wasn't hearsay and asked B4aT if B4aG was in fact not coming in B4aT said it was true and B4aG was not. So both of my Bay coworkers are calling in tomorrow (B4aT told me he wasn't coming in the day before Thanksgiving break over a month ago), but now that leaves leaves me to run the busiest Bay in my department alone... Alone! I think tomorrow will be tiresome...

Nov 25th

Well I was hoping B4aG was going to change his mind and show, he did not. I bet he would have shown if today was a double points day (points go on a record and after so many points, "action, up to termination" can be taken). But awesome, an old Coworker who went to Bay 5a/6a was my helper for the day, since both of my coworkers were out! Super glad to have him back. I love working with him, he makes the day enjoyable. My lead took over Bay 5/6, leaving Coworker from B7C to run 7C and 7D, lots of people are doing double duty.

At the start of shift change there are 10-25 minutes that the two shift are both on. During the time the shifts are together there is this protocol that takes place called 'passdown.' Passdown is when the current shift passes down to next shift the going-ons of the Bay. What tools went down, why, are they up, do they need Qual, how busy the day was, what tools had the most P1 lots, are there any P1's in the tools currently, the counts on the descum (or Bay specific counter tools) and any other questions that are day specific if something different happened that day). Well this is the day before Thanksgiving and a lot of people called in or no showed. So passdown was crazy with all the work that needed to be done.

During passdown the Day 1 guy said that 7 people in the department were not at work for his shift. Leaving his shift with only 13 people in the department. I must have given a dumbfounded look from, what can be seen of the eyes anyway, because the next thing he said was "what?" i wanted to make sure he said that he only had 13 people in that day out of how many normally? 17 normally, and 13 that day... I explained my look because on my shift we start out with only having 13 people in that department, and for this day at least 2 are calling in (the two from my bay). I don't think I've worked a day with everyone there let alone today being a day where people are going to no-show. So that is what I told him, he 'only' had 13 people this day and we 'only' have 13 people, 4 ended up being out from our department and by end of shift were still able to make and exceed both goals for the department and the fab as a whole. Our department goal was 2,000 and we hit 3,200. The fab goal was 98,000 and we hit 103,000. Day shift with it's more people, doesn't make goal often.

And the day is not over...it was very eventful.
Next, just after shift change our department maintenance guy was working on a tool in Bay 3A, but he was in the in between Bay called a chase. It is where the back of the tools are. My sink has a glass around the loading end and you can see into the chase.

He was working on the tool with his back towards me and he had a slight cough. Not a big deal... Until he turned around and I could see his facemask was not over his nose and mouth. It wasn't even over his mouth. It was down under his chin! This is SUPER against protocol, so I told my lead and she told my supervisor. My super said that we've been having a problem with this maintenance man for awhile even when he is in the bays because he feels like since he doesn't directly work with the product, he doesn't need to cover his nose or mouth with the mask, even though both nose and mouth are the biggest sources of contaminants inside a clean room (when wearing protective items properly). My super told my lead to tell me to write an email to the maintenance man's boss because maybe he might finally do something about it. My lead took me to a back corner of a different bay, sat me at the computer and directed me to where I could send the message. ---- (Update: 1/26/16, remember this it comes up again. it a few times)

When we find the bosses message box a pop up comes up that says 'user not allowed. Fab techs can only send messages to supervisors'. So I sent the message to my Super, starting it off as "Supper please forward. Dear [MM Boss]..." When done, I thanked MM Boss in advance for any help he could offer to correct the issue.

At shift change from N1 to D2, the step in coworker (from 5a/6a) went to get water from the gowning room and said there was no one in there changing for the next shift yet. Just around 5:45/5:47, people started trickling in, they were going to be working on a skeleton crew. That sucks.

Nov 22, Nov 23

Nov 22

B4aG finally showed up today. No tools went down during our shift this day. However, when we came to shift 72 etch Chamber 2 was already down. It ended up being down all day. Maintenance looked at it 40 minutes before shift change and the next shift did not look at it as it was still down on the 23rd. I know this because I'm psychic. No, I wrote this post on the 23rd... That's how boring the 22nd was.

Nov 23

When we came in today, there was a sign that said 'meeting at 5:45, go to lunch room, pizza will be served. The sign didn't lie, pizza was there, yum. The meeting was informing us that the contract was signed and my company was officially sold. But, the changes don't take effect until Jan 4th. Since I don't technically work for my company I'm still unsure if I'll have a job. The people in management are unsure if I'll have a job. They just know that every current (not temp) employee will be given a offer letter. I'm temp. They all say that the new company will keep the temps but unsure for how long. They said int he meeting they would keep them as long as the position needed filling, which means they could keep me until they hire me or hire a permanent replacement that is not me...fun...still not as much to worry about as my last job.

After getting back into the fab...

Today is a day for P1 lots.
I thought yesterday had a lot of P1's...today so far has already passed the total we had yesterday...and it's only 10pm.
We've had one at least every 1.25 hours. I had two in 30 minutes and both went down to 11C, which is a bay I rarely go into. I delivered one to 11C, went back to my bay and had another waiting (which is a NO, NO! Priority One lots need to be hand delivered to a person, not left in a bay because had they put it in a place i never look at it could have waited for hours). But lucky them we have an open space that it was put on and was easily spotted). I ran that on, when it was done it also went to 11C, so went to go deliver it. When I got down there, the lady running the tool it went on, who I've never talked at that moment decided to chew me out. She said, "Each lot takes 25 minutes, just because you bring them to me doesn't me they'll run faster!" I just said okay, who I'm to tell her that according to her tool dispatch, she has 6 lots not dispatched to her, incorrectly staged at her tool. Had she had the correct lots, it wouldn't take an extra 25 minutes (because her tool can run 6 lots at a time). P1 doesn't mean run faster, it means runs 1st, run now. Both P1 were dispatched to her. if she wants to take them to a different tool that can run them fine by me, I just take them out of my name. Oh they would be in my name because instead of being placed on a shelf at track out for someone to pick it up, they are 'placed' on my person and moved to the next location. Ex, if i were to track out a normal lot on my screen it says take to "04A1_O" or ""04A_O" which the program has all ready assigned it and the next persons tool that it runs on their screen tells them which shelf it will be located on. With P1 lots my screen says take it to "[name of person tracking it out]" and where it goes instead of saying where to find it, it also shows them the name of the person who tracked it out.

For the rest of the night we got 1-2 P1 lots an hour, I guess since the sale of the company is final the old company wants to get it's products out fast so it upgraded a bunch to P1s instead of normal production.

Nov 16, Nov 17.

Nov 16th

Outta whack from the weekend today at start of shift, 53 was down for preventative maintenance, so since that takes a lot of time it may be down for 2-4 days or longer if it isn't consistently worked on... Might be longer because at the time of making this note it is 8 pm and no one from our maintenance group has even come to look at the progress. Also 34 sink was down, due to a tank not draining in scheduled time 3rd time in 3 days and each time the maintenance man comes, it has drained and filled itself...so they can't figure out the issue. Fun.

There used to be a guy who worked in building 4 and would bring lots over to building 1 (the building my fab is in) and place them in a section called the "E-Fab". Today he was supposed to be transferred to Building 1 and start training in my bay. Around 6:20 we found out he called in. Great way to re-start your first day back in Building 1. If he shows tomorrow instead of learning easy ash, he has to start the day with a qual.

Around 9pm can you guess what happened? 34sink went down for ...you probably guessed it 'tank didn't drain in programmed time'. Followed by 54ash going down for shuttle failure, 28sink in 5A going down for a chem change which happens every 2 days at midnight, its usually down for 3 hours because 3 tanks need to drain, one at a time. And 18sink in 11D going down basically the sinks decided to say "fuck this day" at the some time.
34sink also has chem changes but it goes down at 8am.

Nov 17th

New guy didn't show again, today and all the tools were back up. Nothing went down this day however at the end of the end of the day Bay 4A coworker (who is Now going to be called B4aT, since i will have two, "new guy" is now B4aG) said that 3 escope slots were missing. Where they should have been: 1234 should have been on rack 11D, 4321 on 11C2, 6214 on 11c3. Where they were: 1234 was on 11D But it was not in a normal black box, it was in a white box that usually the fabtechs don't use, so most probably didn't even notice it (like Prisoner Zero). 4341 was on 11C3, not in a box at all and 6214 was on 12D which is inside a bay not in the hallway like the other shelves, which people weren't looking for it to be on the wrong shelf... Took me five minutes to find them, all they had been missing between 3-10 hours. I should have gotten a prize :) , but I didn't get anything.
